Karbon provided design and commissioning services for two new data centers, one in Plano, Texas and one in Phoenix, Arizona. Both data centers provide colocation services and use a proprietary cooling technology that is highly efficient and reliable. Each data center has a guaranteed PUE of 1.15 and uses up to 85% less water than traditional data centers.
The Plano facility is 300,000-SF, with 175,000-SF of data hall space and supports 60 MW. The highly efficient design saves 180,000 MWH per year.
The Phoenix facility is 550,000-SF, with 300,000-SF of data hall space and supports 120 MW. The highly efficient design saves 540,000 MWH per year.
Both projects had a compressed construction schedule and required extensive commissioning support. To support the fast-paced schedule and ensure all equipment performed properly, we took a phased approach and worked closely with the manufacturer to mitigate potential issues during construction. We also performed testing to ensure all equipment worked properly, and repeated testing after any programming changes. Thorough documentation, and reporting was prepared throughout the entire process.
